Windows Store apps won't download, I've tried to download numerous apps but it never passes 'Pending'. Please help!

This:

ren SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
net start wuauserv 4. Try to install updates again.
and this:
a)Right Click the Start screen (bottom left hand corner)
b)Click "Run"
c)Type: "WSReset.exe" and hit enter
was solving my issue.

Could you please check if you have Hyper-V installed on your Surface Book (as per James STick's advice)? If so, please remove it. More information on how to check if you have Hyper-V installed and how to remove it can be found here.

Once again, Emkay1000, I really appreciate the time you have spent working through this with me.
After stopping the current Windows update in Powershell and rebooting, I am now finding that everything seems to update properly except OneNote. Windows 10 and the other applications in the Office 2010 suite update just fine now. Since I never use OneNote in any case, my current feeling is that I should just live with this for now, and periodically check to make sure that important security updates are happening. Everything I really need to do on my computer seems to work without any problems, and I understand your concern that if I try to upload Office 365 that it may fail to install, so I will stick with the Office 2010 for now and not worry about OneNote.
For now, I think we have both spent enough time on this. Your advice, particularly on using PowerShell, has been really helpful and you have been a great member of the community.
