Clock on windows 8 is wrong time, i tried setting to internet time but its still wrong, think theres a time clock bug, anyone have same problem for windows 8 and know how to fix it?

I had this problem when I got my computer.  I tried the above first, but that failed.  Try clicking on the time in the lower right corner of your screen; a window should pop up and you should be able to set the correct time there.

    So I guess everyone has there time problem fixed or not?

    I too have a problem with the new Dell XPS 8700 PC time but nothing like what everyone else is experiencing. I've tried all the solutions everyone has mentioned. Still nothing! I have Windows 8.1 (no other OS). 

    My problem is that the time goes sooo slowly. Every 'real life' second is like 2-3 seconds on Windows. It syncs perfectly fine with the internet time when you do it manually, after a second or two, it goes out of sync again.

    The CMOS Battery time is correct, when i shut down the PC, I made sure time was correct on windows. When I booted the PC up the following day, the time was still correct until Windows booted up and it starts going slowly. 

    Not finding much solutions on the net for when your PC Windows clock goes slowly.

    Any thoughts or solutions would be appreciated.

    I have very nearly the same problem

    I replaced my motherboard and processor

    I reinstalled windows 8 - hundreds of updates - then windows 8.1 and another 50 or so updates.

    I noticed the dates on my windows media center recordings were wrong.  the time stayed correct, but the date was moving forward each day.  I have included an excerpt from my system events log for you to see.

    The antivirus at the time was windows defender but now is Eset.  It made no difference which was installed.

    Some things I tried:

    1.   replacing the motherboard battery
    2.   resetting the system timer
    3.   changing settings in Internet Update to different sites

    The time stayed the same - the date kept advancing.

    Work Around:

    I installed a small utility: NetTime ver. 3.14,

    (www.timesynctool.com)

    I turned off automatic internet update

    I set NetTime to update every 4 hours

    Presto!  Problem solved!

    I have NEVER gotten any direct help from microsoft in the past so my expectations are low, but so many other people are having the same problem, that I thought I would give you guys a try and see if you actually care about how your product works.

    Hi,

    I can imagine the inconvenience you have experienced. I will definitely try and help you in fixing the issue.

    To help you suggest steps to resolve the issue, I would appreciate if you could answer the following questions:

    1.       Since when are you facing the issue?

    2.       Do you have any third party security program installed on the computer?

    3.       What happens when you try resetting the time?

    1. Go to the Start Screen, Right-click to get the "All Apps" icon in the lower right of the screen, and click it.
    2. Select "Control Panel"
    3. From Control Panel, navigate to "System and Security" >> "Clock, Language, and Region" >> "Date and Time"
    4. Click the "Internet Time" tab, and change the server to "time.nist.gov", then click update.
    5. Check if the correct time is displayed with the "auto DST option"

    Thank you Rohit. Your fix has reset the clock to the correct time for my region automatically. A bit later I will shut down and restart my laptop to see if we're back to normal, I'll notify you of the outcome.
