I had this problem when I got my computer.  I tried the above first, but that failed.  Try clicking on the time in the lower right corner of your screen; a window should pop up and you should be able to set the correct time there.

My two recent Windows 8 quad-core HP machines dual boot W8 Pro and Ubuntu 12.10. In all cases the BIOS time and time zone are correct, but the clock will usually - not always - be 8 hours fast (as it is right now) when booting W8 Pro. However, when I boot Ubuntu on the exact same hardware, its clock is always correctly set.  Doing W8 "Internet time" doesn't help the situation.

Since I have two different dual OS machines that exhibit the same behavior, I have to conclude that W8 Pro has a bug related to the clock that is annoying. One HP machine has a replacement aSRock mobo with AMD processor, and the other has HP's stock mobo with Intel i7.

It boils down to the W8 Pro OS having a clock bug. Please fix.

    Perduta,

Edited the Region settings and checked the bios. That did the job. I have checked my time and the time have been correct since. Thanks.

    Hello,

RE: Clock on windows 8 is wrong time, i tried setting to internet time but its still wrong, think theres a time clock bug, anyone have same problem for windows 8 and know how to fix it?

The issue has nothing to do with the BIOS nor CMOS. WIN8 is programmed for the MSWindows TIme server which broadcasts the incorrect time. There's a KB article on this issue (imagine that)! Choose a non-MS time server for time updates, including adjusting the correct time zone.

    Thank you.
