Clock on windows 8 is wrong time, i tried setting to internet time but its still wrong, think theres a time clock bug, anyone have same problem for windows 8 and know how to fix it?

I had this problem when I got my computer. I tried the above first, but that failed. Try clicking on the time in the lower right corner of your screen; a window should pop up and you should be able to set the correct time there.

To be honest, this does not sound like a software issue. It sounds like a hardware one.

I reccon if we all commented the model of the motherboard we have, there is a chance we all have the same one.

I have sent mine off on warranty reasons.

Probably a misaligned crystal on the time circuit. The crystal being the thing that actually keeps the time like in a wristwatch. Either that or the power supply, however given the way that the system time has a watch battery for power i doubt it.

The responses the windows team offers is more or less an FAQ of fixes for 'my time is wrong' rather than 'my clock component is consistantly wrong'.

When youu're competent enough to self diagnose and try to fix that sort of an issue this sort of 'help' site won't actually help you.

I imagine its a hardware issue not a software one.

Therefore there is nothing microsoft can do.

My motherboard is currently at ASUS HQ getting repaired. I like ASUS because they actually repair the motherboard rather than sending me a new one. I'll let you all know if the problem gets fixed.

Dear Microsoft,

This bug was first reported over 18 months ago and users have consistently confirmed it ever since. It is not a minor issue, almost all apps depend on system time and it essentially renders office applications like outlook and calendar utterly unreliable.

Clearly the support you are offering via this thread is not helping. Adjusting system settings, checking bios time and synching with internet time servers are rather obvious points to troubleshoot and clealy NOT the solution. I have a 12 month old Surface Pro 2 that frequently loses time, you cannot blame third party hardware or software. Take ownership, accept that this is a serious defect and for gods sake fix it!!
