Windows 8 continously loses wifi connection

Hi,

I am about to completely lose my wits with this. We all know Windows 8 is not user friendly by a long shot. In the beginneing I thought it was my brand new way too expensive Asus Zenbook that was the problem. I have this computer:

ASUS ZENBOOK U500VZ 15.6" WQHD+

GeForce GT650 2GB,Core i7-3632QM,8GB RAM,2x256GB SSD,Windows 8

It runs Windows 8.

Since I got it it has had a problem with dropping the wifi connection.

The steps taken to resolve it are:

Change settings in Power Plans

Changed adapter settings under "Power Management"

Run -> ipconfig /flushdns

All other laptops and iPads and iPhones running on the routers are fine. Problems persist on OTHER wifi networks as well, and from searching the web I can see this is a COMMON problem with Windows 8. HOW to fix this? Does Microsoft NOT realise it's customers would like to be able to use the internet without losing connectivity...

    I did manage to get this working after using command prompt to remove the connection. I had to set up a new one and agree to pretty much all possible sharing and public access options. Maybe this is what any phone or tablet would do as default. Either way if it's not going to work then you shouldn't be given an option. Also to ask average users to use command prompt for what should be really basic functions is ridiculous.

    I've had the issue on 3 different networks all of which I've connected to with an Android phone and iPad without any problems at all. I think it's fortunate for Microsoft that they now have a reputation for being rubbish but cheap. in the past they would have got much more media attention for the many failings in this release. Also the fact laptops are obviously not a priority anymore. Windows 8 is clearly built for mobiles and tablets then bodged to fit their standard operating system.

    I have the exact same problem and it is driving me nuts.

    I bought my new laptop, a Dell Inspiron, all fancy with a i7 3630QM CPU (2.4GHz), 8Gb RAM, 2Gb Video card, etc. and the (at that time) all new Windows 8. I actually wanted a Win7 machine, but at that time they were not available anymore.

    To make a long story short, a few months after buying the laptop, my WiFi connection started to drop randomly. I thought it was my router, so I tried another one. Same problem. I "upgraded" to Windows 8.1; same issue over and over and over again. I tried all the troubleshooting steps outlined in this tread, but to no avail.

    I have the laptop for more than a year now and was not able to solve the problem. It actually only got worse.

    SO PLEASE MICROSOFT, IF YOU COULD PROVIDE A SOLUTION THAT'D BE GREAT (yep, I used capital letters, take that).

    They're not doing anything to resolve this. Look at the pathetic lack of technician replies to this post. I hate Windows 8. So disappointed in Microsoft :(

    I cleared the connections using command prompt and netsh then reconnected granting every permission possible. This did seem to help although was more complicated than should be necessary and offers far less security than I'd like. Due to general bugs in almost everything I've tried to do on Windows 8 have taken the decision to go to Apple.

    Was just going to go back to Windows 7 but this has given me the motivation to try a Mac.

    I've ended up purchasing a USB wifi adapter, TP link something, to see if it wil strengthen the signal in times of need.... I give up Microsoft.
