Hi,
I'm the developer of Windows Phone Message Backup. Thanks for all the feedback! It is great to hear from users.
I think your review is spot-on. One feature you may not have noticed is that the phone does not need to be connected by USB at all! The sync is totally wireless.
In response to some of your points:
- Yes, this is an unfortunate restriction with Windows 8 apps. There's a way around this, but it will probably be at least 2 or 3 more releases before I implement it.
- The order of the conversations should be time-based from top to bottom based on the time of the most recent message. It's possible that it may be slightly wrong, especially if you change time zones often, but it should be pretty close. I'll investigate.
- Sometimes the downloads fail. The next update should help with that, but for now, you can try closing the app and re-opening it. That may help.
- If you have a short conversation, you should be able to export it as an image. You can always select multiple messages shift or control.
I'm planning on redoing my website soon, but I've been focused on updating this app. The next release (in a few weeks) will have bug fixes, and a nicer-looking UI. The release after that will enable searching through messages. The release after that will
fix the background sync problem and also enable push notifications for new messages.
Thanks again for the feedback and I hope I can earn that 5th star on your reviews in the long run.
