hmm, I hold down the Crtl key and use the mouse wheel to resize desktop icons.
How do you resize desktop icons in Windows 8?
The icons on my desktop changed to a smaller size. I do not know what cause them to change size. How do I change their size back to what it was?
I have been unable to find any directions on sizing desktop icons for Windows 8.

Hi
The Desktop in Windows 8 works the same way it did in previous versions.
Right click an empty space on the Desktop.
Select the View option.
You shouild see 3 options for changing to Small, Medium, or Large Icons.

Note that that's not just for Desktop icons. It's Windows standard,
and works in many (but not all) applications.

Um, no, Ctrl Key and mouse wheel DOES NOT resize the icon, it resizes the entire start up window on mine.
I'm trying to make my most used programs larger, but I only have to options for resizing when I right-click and then click RESIZE on the bottom tab; SMALL AND MEDIUM, no LARGE or WIDE options.
Anyone?
Hi
This thread is about resizing the Icons on the Desktop, not the Start Screen.
The individual apps on the Start Screen are called Tiles, not icons.
The sizing of the individual Tiles on the Start Screen cannot changed by default. The sizing options for these Tiles depend on the type of app.

2013-11-08T20:01:44+00:00 This has bugged me since I started using 8, now 8.1. yes you can select small medium or large but they were all still too big for me.
Today, they seemed to have grown even further!
Anyway, I now have the size I want which is all down to your ctrl and mouse wheel, so many thanks
