hmm, I hold down the Crtl key and use the mouse wheel to resize desktop icons.
How do you resize desktop icons in Windows 8?
The icons on my desktop changed to a smaller size. I do not know what cause them to change size. How do I change their size back to what it was?
I have been unable to find any directions on sizing desktop icons for Windows 8.

Hi
The Desktop in Windows 8 works the same way it did in previous versions.
Right click an empty space on the Desktop.
Select the View option.
You shouild see 3 options for changing to Small, Medium, or Large Icons.

2014-12-21T11:13:17+00:00 I've just had the same problem with my icons suddenly minimizing for no reason. Got the cure here from Ronnie (bless you Sir!) Microsoft being no help at all. I also used XP for YEARS with NEVER a glitch. I think the programmers responsible for this c**p Windows 8 should be fired. (I'd prefer 'shot' but doubtless Microsoft wouldn't like that.) A more unhelpful, useless, abominable piece of software I have yet to come across. I spent 30+ years as a programmer and analyst and as a troubleshooter sorting out problems in various languages on various mainframes and sorted out some pretty horrendous garbage but I wouldn't know where to start with 8. I despair at times that they can get away with this junk. I've now made the mistake of turning on the 'Magnifier' function and, guess what, now I can't turn the dratted thing off again. Sorry about the moan but I do feel better for it. In fact I can FEEL my blood pressure dropping. Gods help us all when they release Windows 9, I shall probably slit my wrists!
