bsod need help 0x8e

I have a lenovo r61i laptop windows xp professional service pack 3 intel pentium dual cpu t2310 @ 1.46ghz x2.  I had this problem before and somehow i fixed it i think i done a bios update this time it dosent work i just get blue screen with following stop code: 0x8e (0xc05, 0x80637f53, 0xa3fd299c,0x0) I have tried my memory modules by taking them out trying one at time and same problem i could get into safe mode with networking but now the networking will not work just safe mode i also tried selective startup and diagnostic startup still bsod used system restore it worked but then when i shut down laptop and went to use it again same thing again. can find loads info on code 8e but dont seem to help so i wrote the full code down as i dont know how to read these codes.  i have no xp cd.  sometimes i can get past bsod and get plain blue screen and get task manager up and i try new task explorer.exe but then bsod again

    i try again by disabling AHCI

    No if those disks are meant to be the recovery disks, it should have had sata drivers on it. So you could install it

    i was thinking this laptop was vista when i got it and i asked guy to put xp on instead would that cause the no driver

    Sounds like it doesnt have sata drivers on the XP cd. You'll have to disable AHCI in the BIOS. And try again. If it installs dont enable it again it'll crash

    hi there i put my recovery cd in told bios to boot from it restarted hadnt to do anything it has loaded windows normal mode so does this mean the hdd is bad?  have restarted again missed part where u press a key so im using disk now i chose repair but it coming up saying cant find any hard disk drives installed
