"application has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware"

recently every time i use a program that use my gpu( I have optimus technology so it switch when needed etc...) I get the error message " application has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware", the internet does not seem to be very helpful about this problem, does anybody know what causes it/how i can fix it ????

    How do you even know if it is defective or not if you haven't even tried to diagnose the issue? I can read and yes, people will do a bit of research to figure out a fix to the problem. Have you guys tried changing the registry key values for tdr (Timeout Detection and Recovery)?     I dont know if he tried them or not, but if you search the internet for this issue, those fixes dont work most of the time.

    been there tried that. In his case could be the case, he probably tried before ending up here, like most.

    those fixes also apply to error "the graphics driver has stopped working but has recovered"

    Same ****.
