"application has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware"

My problem started when I went from 8 to10 as well.  This is a brand new computer (one year old) loaded with memory.  I am running some real memory hogs for my work, so this is more than just a nuisance for me.  It has crashed word twice now, and although I save regularly, and have auto-save on for every 5 minutes, I still lost some work that I could not recreate.  The times it simply locks up is just a nuisance, it freezes for 5-10 seconds and then starts working again.  Irritating and a little scary, but not the end of the world.

I have had the GeekSquad work on this six times, they have been unable to resolve it.  So far they have installed every update imaginable, uninstalled and reinstalled software, cleared out buffers, reset processing speeds, and honestly I'm not sure what else they've done.  The suggestion posted earlier might as well have been in another language, its obvious he knew what he was talking about, but I understood about 1/3 of what was suggested and had no idea how to do the majority of it, and frankly I don't think I should need to.

Microsoft needs to step up to the plate and fix their problem.

MICROSOFT, YOU NEED TO FIND WHAT THE ISSUE IS AND COME UP WITH A FIX. IT HAS BEEN YEARS NOW, SINCE WINDOWS 7.

I HAVE REBUILT ENTIRE SYSTEMS BECAUSE OF THIS.

I USED 4 DIFFERENT VIDEO CARDS FROM 4 MANUFACTURERS, AMD AND NVIDIA.

PROBLEM DOESNT EXIST WITH WINDOWS XP

PROBLEM DOESNT EXIST WITH LINUX, ANY FLAVOR, TRIED SEVERAL.

YOU CAN BLAME CARD MANUFACTURERS DRIVERS, BUT YOUR NOT GETTING WITH THEM TO FIX IT.

ITS A PROBLEM IN YOUR OS, EVEN IF IT IS VS. THEIR DRIVERS, ITS ALL DRIVERS FROM BOTH MANUFACTURER TYPES, NVIDIA AND AMD DRIVERS, SO THEY BOTH CANT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, ITS YOUR OS.

FIX IT!!!!!

I have re-installed Windows (10)

Re-installed + clean installed NVIDIA drivers (latest)

Modified TdrDelay (set to 8) and TdrLevel (set to 0)

NVIDIA GeForce Experience NOT installed

It seems that anything that puts even the slightest workload on the GPU is immediately killed.

I have been using Windows 10 for a few months now but this has only started to happen in recent weeks.

Before applications started to crash I noticed a bit of distortion and a lot of blue/green pixels when running 3D apps.

I don't know and cannot confirm if this has anything to do with the actual problem.

I am mainly receiving the two notifications "Application has been blocked..." and/or "Display driver stopped responding..."

With this happening, it makes having a graphics card completely meaningless. I've also recently taken my computer to a technician with no results.

I had the same issue with my PC and it turned out to be the application software that was the issue. Try installing the driver withour installing any Nvidia or AMD software.

I ended up paying for dell techs unclogging my system from a lot of marketing infections, so to speak. Couldnt get IE or Edge to work completely correct (due to this continuing problem, but we installed Chrome and Flash and now my computer is working much better and faster. I think these built in flash browsers (edge and IE) need to be fixed by the two companies involved; Microsoft and Flash. I dont need them if Chrome is working. This issue had been plaguing my system for a long time and I am done with those two browsers until I hear they are fixed. And I actually like Chrome more than I thought, since in the past I didnt like it, but it is now much better than in the old XL days. 

Thanks to those trying to solve the problem. BTW I have tried your suggestion. It would work for a while, but then it would stop in just a few minutes.
