"application has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware"

I have exactly the same issue with Global Conflict on Windows 10. The game runs for a while and then (usually when there I an explosion in the game) the screen freezes and then the message "Application Global Conflict has been blocked fro accessing graphics hardware" and the game completely shuts down. Since I have been running Windows 10 I have experienced a number of problems, such as my Outlook e-mails have "gone missing"!!. This is a know fault and according to Microsoft they are not completely lost so I only have 30 days or so of e-mail history. That combined with this issue with the graphics hardware is making me wonder why a company as big as Microsoft with the experience they have with Windows (10th edition!) cant get it right......Maybe Apple is the answer!!

After months of kodi constantly crashing because of this issue and a ton of googling I found at least in my situation, which is an Asus ROG G551 laptop with both an integrated intel graphics card as well as an Nvidia 960m. That if i switched the prefered graphics card to the nvidia one that this problem completely went away. Hopefully this helps others as well

I have nVidia GTX 580

The problem that Causes the Applications to be blocked from your graphics hardware is that you have wrong overclocking settings and by wrong i mean Unbalanced for example

For MSI nVidia & Radeon

1. Put your voltage ( Core Voltage to 1.1mV or 1100mV for after burner)

now my factory Settings are:

1000mV core voltage

Core clock (MHz) 795

Shader Clock (MHz)1590

Memory Clock (MHz) 2004

So basically my over clocking must be:

core voltage = 1100

Core clock (MHz) = 900

Shader Clock (MHz) = 1800

Memory Clock (MHz)= 2225

BUT NO !!! this is unstable !!! 900 Core clock and 1800 Shader clock needs more Voltage and more memory clock and that makes your GPU rejecting shaders because it holds more that it can read !!!

SO FOR THE FIX !!!

1. Re-install Fresh drivers from here:

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

2. Uninstall MSI After burner and any other overclocking software and Re-install fresh one.

3. Put balanced settings depending on the GPU you have, For example:

i have Memory Clock (MHz) 2004 that means i need 1075 Core voltage so

i Put my Core voltage 1100 and Memory clock 2225 stable but, more MHz in memory need more reading that means i need balance Shader with the memory clock so instead of 1590 or 1800 i prefer 1650, remember Core clock and Memory clock must be apart on 1/3.

HERE IS MY SETTINGS

core voltage (mV) = 1100

Core clock (MHz) = 825

Shader Clock (MHz) = 1650

Memory Clock (MHz)= 2225

Tips

every 125 Core clock you need 0.100 (mV)

every 1000 Memory clock you need 0.100(mV)

I also bought a Dell Inspiron 15 5000 laptop from Costco with AMD and Intel graphics on Windows 10 Operating System. I am not a gamer, but I was getting the "application has been blocked from accessing the graphics....." error whenever I used IE 11. To resolve the issue I went into Tools/Internet Options/Advanced and put a checkmark in "Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering".  The Switchable Graphics settings for iexplore.exe and chrome.exe are locked down to "Power Saving" mode by AMD and Windows 10 so this was the only way I could resolve the issue. Unless there is a way to unlock the "Power Saving" mode on the graphics card, I have a feeling you'll have to tell whatever software (gaming or otherwise) to use software rendering instead of GPU rendering to use these browsers. For gamers you may be able to add your application to the Switchable Graphics Settings and then select "High Performance" as the setting.

Hope this helps or lead someone to a better solution.

In all reality, take it back and get a new one, its not woth it, this problem is unknown, it could be a million things you never find, take it back( A+ Certified Computer tech)
