Gary
I just went through and did this today. If WLM will not open any longer do the following:
- Click start
- in the search programs and files field (or Run) copy and paste the default location of the Windows Live Mail messages:
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail
- Look for Mail.MSMessageStore file name and delete it (right click, delete). Note: The Mail.MSMessageStore does have a back-up folder and will work to recover your messages but you may not be able to view some recently received messages. If you have
web based e-mail, WLM will sync with the mail server so they are made available again.
Those steps should work to resolve the CMD that you tried. Open WLM it should auto repair, and your messages will be there. Then close it out and try the following.
Now to send, forward and reply to messages do the following after you have fixed the error above.
- Click START...
- Click ALL PROGRAMS...
- Right Click WINDOWS LIVE
MAIL...
- Left Click RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR...
I have read every discussion regarding this problem. I have tried everything. This worked. I found it in another discussion.
I hope this helps.
I am not a guru by any means, but I have been working on fixing this problem since before Thanksgiving.
