In the last 24hrs I have been unable to open a new email or reply to anything I have received. When I click on  new message, or try to reply to one I get the following from Live drive " A problem has occurred while trying to open this message. A problem has occurred. Please try again."  I am receiving everything perfectly well and the problem? seems to be in my computer not with the server as it won't even let me open anything let alone send anything. Any answers for this one?  I have uninstalled the software and reinstalled it but to no avail! I have run an AV scan and done some maintainence. Everything else seems to be working fine. This has only happened in the last 24 hours.

    At least you were able to speak with someone at microsoft... I didn't get that far.  It was so far beyond frustrating!  Even my guru cousins were stumped.  I was very proud of myself for finding this answer.

    If I could do a cartwheel I would have been doing all throughout my shop!

    I'm deeply disappointed in the so-called 'experts' at Microsoft who were unable to directly help when I first asked them for help for a problem with their faulty program. They shrugged me off by suggesting I try the community.

    I just went through and did this today.  If WLM will not open any longer do the following:  

    1. Click start
    2. in the search programs and files field (or Run) copy and paste the default location of the Windows Live Mail messages:

    %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail

    1. Look for Mail.MSMessageStore file name and delete it (right click, delete).  Note:  The Mail.MSMessageStore does have a back-up folder and will work to recover your messages but you may not be able to view some recently received messages.  If you have web based e-mail, WLM will sync with the mail server so they are made available again. 

    Those steps should work to resolve the CMD that you tried.  Open WLM it should auto repair, and your messages will be there.  Then close it out and try the following.

    Now to send, forward and reply to messages do the following after you have fixed the error above. 

    1. Click START...
    2. Click ALL PROGRAMS...
    3. Right Click WINDOWS LIVE MAIL...
    4. Left Click RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR... 

    I have read every discussion regarding this problem.  I have tried everything.  This worked.  I found it in another discussion.  I hope this helps.  

    I am not a guru by any means, but I have been working on fixing this problem since before Thanksgiving.
