USB port does not detect cell phone

I have a Samsung Infuse SGH - I997 cell phone.  I have downloaded the software from Samsung with drivers and have installed it on my laptop running Windows 7 SP1.  When I connect the phone to the USB port it charges but Windows does not detect the phone to install the device driver.  I have tried other USB devices and the ports work for each on I tried except for the cell phone.  Is there something I can do so I can download pictures from my cell phone onto my laptop?

    I've had this phone for over a year and used it with my last laptop, a Toshiba with Windows 7 SP1.  I just purchases an HP with Windows 7 SP1 and the computer does not detect the phone.  Yes, I've installed the Kies Software and rebooted the computer.  I tried to open mass storage and could not.  I have not changed the USB settings.

    If it recognized my phone before....why won't it recognize it now?

    This is the first time I've plugged my phone in to the usb port and the computer doesn't recognize it. Why? It recognized when it has been connected before?

    Try a different USB cord.  And a different port if that doesn't work.

    I have a Samsung GalaxyS7 edge and when I plug it into Windows does not detect the phone

      I have a ZTE Marvin 3 and my phone doesn't work on USB port.  So I don't know

    what to do to get it working.  If you have and answer to fixing it, email me and let me know.
