How can I disable or remove password startup on Windows 8? I have no need to password protect my PC and I would like to remove it.

Press the Windows + R keyboard shortcut.

Press the keyboard shortcut.

Then enter control userpasswords2 in Run dialog box and hit enter. uncheck the box named Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer

Apply button to see the Automatically Log On dialog box. Enter your password

and click ok.

    how do I just remove the user?  I've tried everything listed in this forum and it still makes me enter a password when I turn the computer on.  I just want the user removed. thanks

    I've done all the steps above and unchecked the box. it's making me use my windows live password, not just on my computer but also to login to this forum. my computer is annoying the **** out of me and i'm about to return my computer to the store and go back to windows 7. please help asap. thanks
