This doesn't work on my Windows 8.1.

None of the answers provided on MS Help pages work.

It's more than a little frustrating that I'm forced to have a password on my own computer that I don't want and have no option to remove.

Mine finally went away when I had a Norton problem from recent Windows Security updates and I deleted all of them and Norton tech uninstalled and reinstalled my Norton. Who knows why.....
