How can I disable or remove password startup on Windows 8? I have no need to password protect my PC and I would like to remove it.

Press the Windows + R keyboard shortcut.

Press the keyboard shortcut.

Then enter control userpasswords2 in Run dialog box and hit enter. uncheck the box named Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer

Apply button to see the Automatically Log On dialog box. Enter your password

and click ok.

    I did this and it didn't work.  I'm guessing it has something to do with the Windows Live login not persisting.
