How can I disable or remove password startup on Windows 8? I have no need to password protect my PC and I would like to remove it.

Press the Windows + R keyboard shortcut.
Press the keyboard shortcut.
Then enter control userpasswords2 in Run dialog box and hit enter. uncheck the box named Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer
Apply button to see the Automatically Log On dialog box. Enter your password
and click ok.

I recently signed up for a one year contract with MS Assure tech support and it has been kind of a nightmare. many erroneous answers given to me with the favorite answer being 'you can't do that". I bought 8.1 pro and looked at it for the first time today and needed a simple question answered. How do I remove the password requirement to startup my computer. I called MS and the tech person had to put me on hold for a few mintues and finally come back and tell me that it can't be done. After I hung up I did a search of my problem and came to your answer. It was easy. What the heck is wrong with some of these MS tech people?
