For my Alienware 14, Windows 8.1 Pro: The Track Pad Driver did not have a button to turn off Tap to Click. Alienware support me a link to another Track Pad Driver which did indeed have a button to turn off the Tap for Click. I also have found a button
to turn off the Track Pad when a USB mouse is plugged in, which helps a whole lot as when I am typing text, it is impossible to keep my palm from touch the track pad.
What is astonishing to me is that Tap to Click seems to be universally installed, and it is totally useless. I do not see any way it is useful in using the mouse. I can not navigate the mouse pointer unless it starts with a tap. I realize that one can
change the sensitivity and might, with a lot of experience, be able to change from mouse navigation to Tap option, but it is annoying.
The other truly annoying mouse option is Zoom when I am trying to navigate. Which for some reason, browsers like Mozilla make really hard to turn off. Mystifying.
I guess this is the revenge of all those kids whose first relationship with a computer was Donkey Kong and games, and feel using the mouse should be a game.
