Hi everyone,
When I connect to my wireless network (very secure and complex WPA2 password), I go to File Explorer and the click on the "Network" at the bottom left of the window. There continues to be a wireless device or phone that shows detected on the network. I have seen three different devices and mac addresses since logging on this morning. I have also checked the router and there is no record of these mac id's or devices on the router. Where would these be coming from? This doesn't show on my Windows 7 machines. And also, I do not own any of these phones that are appearing on the network. Any help would be appreciated.

why would other phones try connecting to secure wifi
Just to check.
I mean your answer is not wrong, what I'm getting at its why is your devices trying to connect when you can try to find networks, it just don't make sense. But have you tried finding your windows phone on your network?
That's a good point. Interestingly enough, I have never seen a Windows Phone do this. It's only ever been devices running an older version of Android.

I don't think that you will find it, if you do then you must be doing something that is not known by most people, or people that know more than open up a browser and check email
Woah! There's free Wi-Fi!?!?... Who would have guessed, no then how come with my windows phone it does not even show up on my network when it's connected? Or how do we know if windows it's just spitting out random devices by its self, I love how you wrote a whole essay on how devices connect to open Wi-Fi due to wifi sense. Not saying that they don't and I know my phone connects to Wi-Fi but why would other phones try connecting to secure wifi? Unless they are a neighbor trying to connect to my router. But it's not just one there are so many random mac address with different names everyday trying to connect. Got another presentation to answer that?

I am also a little concerned, as I'm led to believe WIFI can be hacked very easily, so for now I've turned off Home-grouping which was kinda the point so I could Link my SP4 to my xbox.
Could you store the devices trying to connect so I can then add them to a blocked list on my somehow.
Also could some comment n the following image from my Powershell apps.
Do I need power shell at all? Why are there 2 accounts? Have I been hacked, again I read its easy to force the powershell to create new administrator users.
I've got the same problem, and I understand how it could be nothing. However I am a bit unsure about where the connection is being made \ requested. I've reset the router to factory settings, changed passwords, now use MAC filtering and I still get the phones appearing in explorer. They have never appeared as connected in my router.
The bit I don't understand is where the connection is being requested, is it directly with my wifi laptop, or with my router? Why doesn't my phone appear in explorer? why doesn't my friends phone appear when we test it (with or without correct password)?
