Where did my apps on the start page go?

So when I first got his on Christmas, my start page was full of apps, now I only have these 3: Internet Explorer, Store, and Desktop. What happened? There are apps in the apps section of my computer but none of them are the ones that were there the first day.

I had the exact same problem and was hoping to find a solution here. This answer by Microsoft does not provide any help " after performing the troubleshooting steps" what troubleshooting steps?? The links provided do not lead to any troubleshooting steps. "We, at Microsoft strive towards excellence." Yeah well if so, then please provide a step by step solution to this problem.

I have the same problem! One day I log in and most of my apps are gone, mainly MAIL. I have two accounts on this computer. The Apps are on the second account. I use the same account to log in to my other Windows 8 computer and the Apps are not missing on that computer. The App 'READER' works and will start when I open a PDF file, but the App is missing. It is not on the Start screen and it is not in the list of Apps. When I search for Mail or Reader, Windows does not find anything. I have tried to be patient and spend time learning Windows 8, but this is driving me mad. FYI I have used every version of Windows since Windows 95.

I downloaded Windows 10 on Aug 11, 2015 but lost all desktop icons. Now I cannot identify "close", "mark for", delete, or anything else. How do I fix his?
