the application is unable to start correctly 0xc0000005 after windows update

Sorry my english :)

Hello, today, after windows 7 x64 update itself and reboot most of all my applications cant start and crash with error 0xc0000005.

In "installed updates" I see a lot of Security update for Microsoft .Net Framework Client profile installed today, but I cant Uninstall them, click Uninstall, then I see "Setup.exe *32" in the task manager, then receive an error "An error occurred while trying to uninstall <update name>. It may have already been uninstalled" :(

Also I make a system restore, but without any result :(

Any ideas?

How can I manually remove this updates? Registry cleaning or something else?

You have hacked or infected files on your computer.

Check your BCD and do the below fix if necessary (at your own risk)

In Windows open CMD as Administrator and type BCDEdit and enter, if your Windows Boot Loader Path is xOsload.exe then you need to remove some files and repair your BCD.

NOTE: you will need to re-activate Windows afterwards, so make sure you have your Windows 7 key handy.

Boot to Windows Repair - Command

Del D:\Windows\System32\xOsload.exe

Del D:\Windows\System32\xNtKrnl.exe

Del D:\Windows\System32\Drivers\oem-drv64.sys

attrib c:\boot\bcd -h -r -s

ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old

bootrec /rebuildbcd

Control Panel should work as it's 64 bit. Press "Start", type "Add or remove" and click "Add or remove programs" when it shows up.

Thank you very much. You were right: I followed your advice and I managed all the other problems. In any case, these slips by Microsoft are simply shameful: lots of wasted time and hassles, because they do not control what they are doing. I'm still RELATIVELY technically minded, but I can't think to those poor users, the ones that resort to technical assistance even when they have a problem as simple as the printer not printing: Just imagine them, in the heart of summer, may be with some important job to complete, and their technical assistance service on vacation till the end of the month! It's hard to imagine a worst nightmare. WHAT I CAN'T UNDERSTAND IS HOW CAN MS DARE TO SUGGEST SETTING AUTOMATIC UPDATES! Imagine, going to sleep and waking up with your PC updated and not working any more and having something very important to complete by noon! It happened to me last February and I suffered serious problems: I cursed Microsoft more than ever. And I turned off automatic updates forever. Moreover, since then, I always install updates one by one. This time I tried the shortcut and I allowed more than one update to be installed at once: And I was very heavily punished!

The crack I've read about does not alter ntoskrnl.exe (which is protected by SFC). Instead it creates a patched version called xNtKrnl.exe and instructs bootloader to use it instead. As far as SFC is concerned, ntoskrnl.exe is valid and xNtKrnl is just a random file.
