Recently I bought samsung ativ smart PC pro from Dubai. For some reason I got blue screen & I had to reset the windows. After restoring windows 8, some of the preinstalled samsung apps are missing from windows store & PC. I tried below actions, still no solution. Reinstalled windows 3 times, samsung update also done 3 times PC given for service, they reinstalled it for 4th time & said its ok. (no improvement) Contacted S agent online, he remotely tried to check the PC. He said reinstall windows!!!! otherwise contact windows support. Now I dont know, what windows support is going to direct me to some other company XYZ? Could some one take the responsibility & resolve the issue, instead of throwing the ball here & there. Ahh OK, it seems like a issue with the way Samsung stored the OEM data in cache. Idk why that sounded like a good idea to them and they need to create some way to restore that data in SW Update or implement it differently, that could take some interaction on the part of MS because I read about other OEMs using the cache that way as well.

Apparently not the case with Samsung devices. I upgraded to Pro on my Samsung 700t and lost the "Samsung picks" just like REWright and countless others did. Samsung support suggested to recover back to standard windows 8 and not upgrade to pro if I wanted to keep the "Samsung Picks" section. What kinda answer is that? I left ASUS after the Transformer Prime issues everyone had and their covering it up to walk right into another situation like this. Yes I'm with you. I was only refering to what he wrote: " This seems to me to be a Microsoft issue". Which is not, because it still works on the surface. This is apparently a Samsung issue. Samsung was never been good at supporting their devices. One of the reasons I don't buy their stuff.
