Original title: windows mail on W8 to windows live mail?
I hate the mail program on my new laptop, Windows 8. How can I change the email program to Windows Live Mail as I use with Windows 7?

until recently I've been unable to reinstall 'windows live mail' (windows essentials) on my windows 8
desktop that crashed and I had to do a recovery...recently I was able to find a version on filehippo.com
I opted for an older build of 'windows 2012' and it did finally download and install...it was the oldest version

Actually Richard, In the end, I did not install Windows Live Mail on my Windows 8.1 machine. I am using the free version of eM Client. I am very happy with it. I use eM Client with my Gmail account and my email, calendar, and contacts stay synced with my droid phone. I recommend it instead of Windows Live Mail. To install just follow the instruction on the eM Client web site.
Please provide step-by-step instructions on how to install windows live mail on my PC. Thanks, Richard
