Original title: windows mail on W8 to windows live mail?

I hate the mail program on my new laptop, Windows 8.  How can I change the email program to Windows Live Mail as I use with Windows 7?

  1. Are you referring to mail app in Windows 8?
  2. Are you trying to use Windows Live mail instead of mail app?

    How?  Where?  I hate the new email program in Windows 8 as well and want the old Live Mail that I had in Windows 7.

    Thanks Ron, I found that useful. Can you explain how I can get the livemail to synch with older mails on the server please? I am only see mails from 17 days ago when the hard drive on my old pc crashed and has been deemed unrepairable. They are present on the actual isp mail server though..

    Don't you get it?  What we want to do is not use the horrible Mail program, neither the web portal to Hotmail nor the Mail program are any good.  Especially bad is the contacts section which has next to no, or in Mail, no search capabilities.
