KB2821895 Windows 8 x64 Update 06.11.2013 problem

After this update “sfc /scannow” gets stuck at 100% for about 6-7 minutes, and afterwards reports that there are corrupted files that it cannot fix and asks for reboot.

The situation with “sfc/scannow” repeats after restart. I checked it with three different machines. There are a lot of errors in CBS.log file.

We’re aware of an issue impacting some Windows 8 customers trying to run the sfc /scannow command after installing KB2821895, where customers using the System File Checker receive an error message that there are corrupt files and that the system requires a restart to repair the files.

To work around this issue:

·         Open an elevated command window

·         Run the command dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth, and wait for this command to complete.

·         Run the sfc /scannow command again until the command completes and reports that there is no corruption. If you still get an error that there is corruption, you should contact technical support for further assistance as your system may have actual corruption.

Sorry for the duplicate replies. Seem to have run into a glitch when

    I went into edit.

Seriously, the info in the logs looks innocuous, but is there anything

of a personal nature in it?

Will explore free dropbox account in the meantime.

    Thanks

Sorry, Damit S, but I have no shared cloud accounts at all because of trust issues at

    this point.

Is there any alternative where I could upload?

Also, are there any privacy concerns in sharing this much info?

I remember on an issue with Windows 7 I paid Microsoft $99 for support to fix a problem

and after two days they isolated a corrupt copy of Adobe Flash causing problems.

Is there a way I could do that privately, have Microsoft support look over my tablet

and oversee the attempt to install 2821895? That might be more private. Then could

    report back on findings?

    Thanks.

Sorry, Damit S, I have no cloud sharing accounts. I'm afraid I don't trust it yet.

Are there any alternatives where I could upload?

Also, are there any privacy concerns in doing so in all that info?

    Thanks.
