HIGH disk usage Windows 8 Pro

It's been about 4 days since I've had this issue. My computer was running really slow, so I checked the Task Manager and saw that a "System" process was running under the name "ntoskrnl.exe". I thought it was a virus or a rootkit. I ran Windows Defender and nothing was detected. I just did a clean install of my operating system last night, and I'm checking my processes and the same issue is persisting.

I have an HP Pavilion m7 1015-dx.

If the problem is persisting like I think it is, can this be a hardware issue?

when i am running itune then it goes 100 percent disk utilization in my case

After closing the itune everything smooth

Stop the Windows Search service and the disk I/O drops under 20% almost immediate. The problem is Windows Search is auto-started by something else, so the problem returns. :(

Ken,

You are everything that is wrong with these forums. You obviously are not remotely aware of the problem described, therefore you should not waste space on this forum dishonoring Microsoft MVPs that add value to the community. I hope someone at Microsoft has the good sense to ensure that your MVP status is no longer renewed.
