MSVCP100.dll Missing.

I have the same question. How to solve this error?

Alright so I came to post my own little tidbit. I've tried all the steps mentioned in this forum and about 32 different other forums and none worked so I'm just gonna say this. If you do all the steps they say repeatedly downloading and installing all the Microsoft Visual C++ things and you still get the message "msvcp100.dll is missing" or "msvcr100.dll is missing" what you have to do is manually download and move the files. What I did was find the msvcp100.dll and msvcr100.dll files in the System32 files of the old windows folder so I copied those two programs and pasted them into the Windows folder (that doesn't have an old in the name) System32 files. By the way you need administrator permissions for these since they are important system programs. If anyone thinks these instructions aren't clear enough message me and I'll try to give better instructions sooner or later.

Are you updating to Windows 10.

I Guess you are upgrading from Windows 8.1  like I was.

The message the the above .dll files are missing was driving me insane - my wireless internet stopped working as well as several programs failed to open.

Fed up with this - as we all are.

Found simple solution which has resolved the problem, certainly with my laptop pc.  No stupid downloads of .dll files from trusted/untrusted advertisers.

Simple solution to this problem without cost or effort is as follows:

Guess you have uprgaded from a previous version of Windows.

Also guess you had a version of Adovb Reader on youur pc before the update.

Simple solution is to go to Conotrol Panel, access Programs, and uninstall the prior version of Acrobat Reader.

Reboot your PC, the error messages will still appear but ignore them, just click as many times as necessary to

pass them.

Now open a web browser, Firefox, Edge, Internet Explorer, or whatever, then type in Adobe Reader in search box.

When found click in site and Adobe wll recognise and display your pc windows version / operating system and display a DOWNLOAD Button to get the correct version of Reader.

Click the download button and load the correct version of Reader.

I suggest that after downloading, you reboot your pc, and am certain from then on you will not get the error messages occuring. Also that those programs that would not work / open will now do so.

Simple solution to a difficult situation the Microsoft failed to recognize!

Happy to be of service. I know how difficult it can be to find solutions to problems that company's do not wish to acknowledge as their errors.

Lol it's just a computer software love. Microsoft employees already did the heavy programming stuff. It has to do with graphics and your computer's ability to display certain things. I think.

I got that pop-up due to a game. After exploring my files, turned out that the "missing" files were actually there, but the game was causing the computer to not have access to the files. My guess is, if uninstalling and reinstalling the software doesn't work, or repairing or upgrading, find the software that is causing the problem then uninstall that as well. 

My personal recommendation?

Try: 

1- Uninstall Microsoft Visual Studios

2- Whatever software you were trying to run might be (most likely is) causing the problem (like something that was cracked or unofficial, most likely.), so you're going to have to uninstall that programme as well.

3- Restart your machine (good to start over fresh)

4- Download and install MVS 2013 (think there's a link to it higher up on the thread).

5- When reinstalling the other programme, go over very carefully the setup instructions of the thing. If it asks you to do anything at all related to MSV from files they provide or files included in their setup folder, skip that step and do the others.

Should be fine after that. 

I also have Windows 10 and this resolved my problem.

My mistake was in thinking the pop-up was related to MVS, but it is actually related to the other programme that you were trying to run when you get the error message. Typically just uninstalling and reinstalling that software should also be fine, but if it had lead you to making any changes to MVS in its setup, then MVS could be compromised. So if you're not sure, best do the whole bit.

And yes, it's necessary because the programme you are trying to run clearly needs it.
