    Hi,

    Getting the message:

'The program can't start because MSVCP100.dll is missing from your computer.Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.'

It's October 21, 2015 and I am getting this message now. I upgraded to Windows 10 a couple weeks ago and never had this problem before the upgrade.

Can Microsoft do an update? I don't know what Visual C++ is...sounds like a programming language so I'm not too comfortable installing it. Do I have to install it?

I had this exact problem. A number of applications and services couldn't run because MSVCP100.DLL was missing. The crazy thing about this is that it didn't start immediately after Win 10 installation. The problem actually started a day later. Of course the file was actually exactly where it should have been in the system32 folder.

I was at my wit's end and in desperation downloaded Microsoft Visual Studio Community 2015. It took over an hour to download and install, but afterward everything worked again.  I have to wonder if Microsoft actually tested this operation system outside a development environment. I wonder if I can now uninstall the development environment since I am not a software developer.
