Actually, you CAN hide old items now - deleting is more complicated (in that there will always be people that will claim they didn't delete something they did delete.... so 'hiding' is the compromise)
Yes, there are some pseudo-techs that post generic responses or pointless methods or fixes - becoming an MVP for MS is only slightly harder than becoming an Apple Genius, or a Linux anything.... expect useless ideas from the majority....
First-line end user call-in support do use specific forms for processing issues as they DO answer most issues. Unfortunately for the 5% of users with an IQ over 100, those methods and answers are a waste of time (be glad to be part of the 5%)
As for this forum... it may be moderated, but it is essentially community support. As such you must realize that not everyone gives useful (or reliable) advice. Sometimes there are slight differences in issues which results in different solutions. Sometimes
users (often) don't give useful or accurate descriptions of problems.... as such take every possible solution with a grain of salt...
As I said - the solution is to hide old items - when this thread started, this was not possible.... so it HAS been addressed.....perhaps not to your liking....
