Lumia 1020 Camera Won't Hold Focus

When using my 1020, I hold the shutter button halfway down to let it autofocus. It proceeds to do so briefly, but as I push the button, it loses focus and results in blurry photos. The manual focus does a little better. If I tap to focus, I can usually get the focus I want after 10 or so tries. This issue comes up at any focal distance.

Is the camera broken?

Thanks.

I have been using my Nokia 1020 for two years and am now facing the issue mentioned here. My camera focuses for a fraction of a second and then springs out of focus. All my videos are now blurry as well. I have cleaned my lens, so that is not the problem.

    Would appreciate support on this.

    Thanks!

As with the numerous others here -the Nokia 1020 has a camera problem.  I can take 1 good picture in focus and then every other picture is blurry and out of focus.  I've updated the software, had the hardware looked at to no avail.  I purchased the phone to replace my camera however these days I'm forced to carry both.  I cannot believe you have not addressed this widespread issue.  Please let us know how to fix our phones!

Using AT&T 1020 with latest Cyan update. My problem is also ..the viral focusing problem of a phone marketed as the CAMERA KING :(

My problem is that while in landscape mode PHONE WONT FOCUS while is portrait FLAWLESS FOCUS is achieved ..bet its a hardware fault.. the only thing i do is focus in portrait & then turn my phone 90degress to make a fine landscape shot.. bcz focus is distance dependent & not orientation dependent though you need a steady hand

Hey there Craig. I am a die hard Microsoft loyalist who requested help with this issue months ago. Due to your inability to support me with this issue, I have chosen to purchase the brand new Samsung Galaxy Edge Plus. This is also due to the fact that there are no carriers in Canada who support the new Lumia 950. It is a shame as I very much adore the Microsoft platform but am sick of this phone having so many photographic issues.you guys are going to really have to make it up to me to switch back. Cheers
