I'm having the same issues with my Nokia Lumia 1020 camera. Is there any fix for this? I specifically purchased the phone for the camera and this is very irritating. I don't want to have to send the phone in to get fixed, I use my phone for work and cannot send it in for an extended period of time. Can someone please let me know if there has been a fix for this?
Lumia 1020 Camera Won't Hold Focus
When using my 1020, I hold the shutter button halfway down to let it autofocus. It proceeds to do so briefly, but as I push the button, it loses focus and results in blurry photos. The manual focus does a little better. If I tap to focus, I can usually get the focus I want after 10 or so tries. This issue comes up at any focal distance.
Is the camera broken?
Thanks.

2014-04-07T02:57:14+00:00 Hi there folks,
I'm experiencing the same original issue that iamskew . It takes sometimes four or five attempts until tapping on the screen does produce a focused image. Most of the times, when you try to select a region to gain focus, the 1020 does make it, the image gets fancy and all of sudden, just before the picture is taken... focus is lost. Manual focus seems to work fine, as well as video recording.
I bought it on last november, and thought I was doing something wrong, because Nokia hardware is regarded as almost a legend here in Brazil . Someone please tell me this is not a hardware issue, since I just can't spare days or weeks waiting for maintainance and no smartphone.
Kind regards!

2014-03-21T05:05:38+00:00 OK, sorted. Had to replace the camera in the phone. Fortunately my local service center located a salvage unit as no new camera modules were available in Kenya and my 1020 was not covered by warantee, having bought the phone outside the country.
