Hi RekkiFinn! I have the same issue as described above. Could you please tell me how to fix it? instead of replacing a new camera module.
Regards.

When using my 1020, I hold the shutter button halfway down to let it autofocus. It proceeds to do so briefly, but as I push the button, it loses focus and results in blurry photos. The manual focus does a little better. If I tap to focus, I can usually get the focus I want after 10 or so tries. This issue comes up at any focal distance.
Is the camera broken?
Thanks.

I am having the exact same problem. The camera won't hold focus. After maybe 20 taps and a lot of luck, I can get it to focus for a few photos, then the focus is lost again. The video... the same story.
The camera is also causing my phone to overheat. i have had to turn it off, because the big circle were the camera lens and the flash are, become over heated.
The last issue I have encountered is that my text message threads become "read only". I have to start a brand new thread to continue texting a person.
I absolutely love my phone, and I bought it specifically for the camera. No other phone comes close. I do not want to get a new one, but if my camera doesn't work, what is the point. What is the fix for it?
Good luck with that. I don't think Microsoft care. They are not serious about supporting their phones. My advice is give up and get an iPhone or Samsung. That's what I did and now I can take photos again.
Yes, I am one of the hundred of thousands with this problem. I recently reset my 1020 to factory settings thinking it will fix the problem but it got worse. Also cannot zoom while recording a video, it will be out of focus. Don't know what to do now.
There must be thousands of people with this problem. The phone was not cheap. When is a law firm going to take this on as a class action suit?
I cannot understand how Microsoft has ignored this problem and its customers.
I couldn't agree more. I have the Nokia 1520 (5th ONE!!! Over heating, crashing etc.) and my wife has the 1020 that simply can't focus to take a picture (and THAT is what Microsoft highlighted - the great camera!). I would LOVE to get involved with a class action suit as this is ridiculous. The phones are GREAT - when they work. I would LOVE Microsoft to contact me ASAP! ******@Hotmail.com
