This is funny, but there is link in Windows 10 to make IE your default browser if you do not want Edge, Google, Mozilla/Firefox, etc your default browser.

When I did this I set internet explorer as default and then clicked print.  After that It asks you what program you want to be the default one to open .html files.  Just set firefox to be the one you use and then reset the default browser to firefox when you are done.

We know how to circumvent the known problem however, we do NOT want to to use IE for anything.  That's the issue with this thread.

In addition to forcing us to use IE, this is a good example of how most software developers (not just at MS) treat the customer.  Rather than tell us in the first place that IE needs to be the default for this to work, it gives us an inscrutable error message.  The onus is then on the customer to figure out what this means and how to solve this bug.  

Why in the world can't the software simply advise us of this requirement in the first place?  There is plenty of room for a sentence to explain it.  If they don't want to tell us until we encounter the bug, then they could accompany the inscrutable error message with an explanation.  This is just common sense.  

Why is it so hard to treat customers with basic courtesy?   It should be a basic requirement in designing software.
