Just a minor correction Daniel; There is no fix yet for this problem - only a workaround.  Not until M$ removes the dependency on IE to print the Homegroup password, will this be "fixed." I, and many, many others chose NOT to use IE or Edge for our browsing and therefore do NOT want to make it the default browser even for this problem.

After the Christmas pudding - and still we wait. Looking at how long this thread has been going (over two years) it seems to me that this will never get sorted by MS until they feel the full force of the law on them. I guess none of us have the resources or inclination to sue in the courts either in UK or Europe. For this reason MS will ignore and continue to do whatever it likes. They gave an undertaking (I think to the European Commission) many years ago that their browser (IE) would be given / sold separately from the OS for this very reason. I doubt that this has even been elevated to senior management. I would love to be proved wrong on that so if any moderator at MS is still reading this thread maybe you could make a name for yourself by letting us, your customers, know a definative response. Like most of colleagues here I am not holding my breath!

I tested this by changing the browser to IE.  I tried to print the homegroup and it send it to the browser then I can print.. but, I can also then choose to send it to Chrome or any other browser and it will.  Try just assigning a default browser.  It doesn't have to be IE.. but, you may have to try IE first.      I am using Windows 10 and it ask me with which program I want to open when printing the homegroup password.  I chose chrome.. It opened chrome and I printed from there.   I had to set a default browser first in Window 10 app defaults.

It may not let you choose Edge first.. You may have to try IE first then choose another browser.
