This was a problem that hounded me for a long time - a long time ago. My memory about the issue is now sketchy but I think my wife came up with her answer - she downloaded Opera browser and things started to work better ! why ?? I honestly don't know but it seems to relieve the headache !
Give it a try - if it works for you then 2018 has promise.
Error 2147500037 still not resolved. Cannot print home group password from Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Homegroup "View or print the homegroup password."
Windows 10, up-to-date, Intel i3-2100 12 GB
Same error as people wrote out in 2013. How about that. My default browser was Chrome, but after creating a home group and eventually rebooting to try to deal with the print failure, I made Edge the default browser but print button presents same error, rebooted and continue to get same results.
I have spent over an hour trying to get Windows help to give me SOME info on the error and reading the items here that Virtual Agent eventually revealed.
So sad.
All other print functions work fine. Yes, even without somebody's ever-so-clever suggestion above, I obtained a scribing tool and papyrus and captured the password. From reading the Q&As here, it appears this error is very limited in scope. And there is no solution at hand.
I hope not. The rapid changes in Win 10 and the glitches since the Creators update are a real negative.
Windows 10 user.
So in order 'fix' this issue I am going to have to change default browser from MICROSOFT EDGE to MICROSOFT IE!
You have got to be joking!
