how can i fix error code 2147500037

Is the Control Panel a web browser because that is where you go to get to the Homegroup program.  In Windows 10 you go to all settings to get to the Homegroup program, this is not a web browser.  

You save a document as a PDF in your documents folder, then when you want to print it, you click on the document , it brings it up in what ever PDF program you have installed and prints it from there, again, this is not a web browser. So, is your PDF program tied to IE in order to print.

We should not have to use workarounds, copy and paste, print screen or IE as the default browser in order to print this one password/document.  These are all suggestions from the Microsoft community forum and from Microsoft tech people.

It's been over 3 years that I can find when this problem was first reported.  

                      I really believe that Microsoft:     1.  doesn't know how to fix this problem;  

                                                                           2.  doesn't care about fixing this problem;

                                                                           3.  just doesn't want to fix this problem.

As for the hyped up Edge, that is another story.  Should have not introduced it until the program has the same functional ability as IE, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc(this means 3rd party extensions/plugins).  Right now, Edge will not load my home page, thanks, Microsoft.

Bring in someone that knows what they are doing.

I am experiencing the same problem I cannot print my Homegroup Password from the 'View and Print your Homegroup Password' page arrived at through Control Panel. The print this page Button at the bottom of the page does not do what it says it does - I also get the Error code 2147500037. It's mad that Microsoft are saying that you have to have IE as your default browser. I have Windows 10 and that comes with Edge not IE. I have had to stop using Edge because it has slowed down to a snails pace and has become unusable (help on this subject from Microsoft is another sore point).

The question begs answering Why do I have to have IE as my default Browser to be able to print a page?

This issue has obviously been going on for some time and it's about time that Microsoft resolved the problem with an update to allow this page to be printed without the help of IE.  How difficult would this be.

With a little bit of intuition I have managed to paste the code into word and print out without any problems.

OMG... Almost 2 years later and this still hasn't been fixed?  I cannot believe MS FORCES one to use IE for this ONE SIMPLE TASK - Give me a break.  I set IE as default and, after it loaded almost every add in the entire world and started pop-up and pop behind windows with even more adds, printed my homegroup password and then quickly reverted to Firefox as my default browser.   Come on MS, get your act together, there is no reason to force us to use IE for anything.  Please?

MDSBigPaPa, you are absolutely right, of course.  Now, another year has passed, and I am still receiving this error code while using Windows 10.

Fortunately, I have Gadwin PrintScreen installed on my PC, so I just took a quick screen snapshot of the page and saved/printed it as a graphic, without having to jump through Microsoft's ridiculous little hoop.

We know ALL of the workarounds; that's not the issue.  The intent for this thread is to force M$ into removing the requirement to have IE as your default browser.  You see, there are millions of folks who do not like/trust IE and do not want to be FORCED to make it their default browser for this one transaction.

The simple fix is the easiest, DO NOT try to PRINT  THE PASSWORD hundreds of people try and they waste hours of time, grab a pen and paper, write it down its faster than waiting for the printer to warm up.
