how can i fix error code 2147500037

On error code 2147500037 which only seems to occur when trying to print the password screen in HomeGroup is still happening today almost a year later.

It seems that having IE as the default browser is the only answer.

Since IE is being replaced by Edge you would think Edge would handle it but it does not allow it to print either.

Many users use Chrome and that doesn't work either.

Doing a screen print works but why do we have to think exceptions when trying to print something.

Simple workaround, take a screenshot and print that. Not a horrendous inconvenience, though I agree that making someone have to set IE as default in order to print the validation code is utter laziness or perhaps just plain rude.

BTW Microsoft Admins, if you cannot figure out where someone came to the error code that comes from one place that is described on several computer-geek websites, then I would argue you deserve to either be demoted or simply fired. Of course, if you all are volunteers, I can't fault you all for being uneducated, though learning to Google should be a part of every techs tool-belt.

Also, I wanted to report that when I tried to login to comment on this, I submitted my email to receive a one-time-use code to login, but the email said "if this was you then you don't need to do anything", which made me have to use an alternate method. ****?

Agreed!  I was aware of there having been a suit, in which Microsoft was given a a fine. However I wasn't sure of the date, or of the amount of the fine. Thanks for the info. I wholeheartedly agree with the rest of your statement as well.

Yes, Microsoft's abuse of its position is most definitely something ongoing. I'm not one on suing, and prefer to even overlook most things before taking something so far. Unfortunately there are situations in which an issue arises that is beyond overlooking, and the one causing the issue simply refuses to be moved any other way. I can look past much. When it effects millions of people, or especially when it has a negative effect on my customers and associates, though, it becomes somewhat difficult to look past. Mess with me, but leave others out of it! When a powerful, rich, overbearing, (that basically has a monopoly on the market) company, and especially one that charges an arm and a leg for its services/products that are constantly having bugs, errors, and other problems with them, but has a customer service department that most any junior-high school class could easily outdo and put to shame, refuses to resolve issues, refuses to listen to its customers, and shows no effort to improve or make things right, the looking past is out the door. 

By all means: "European customers should report to the commisionner for competition". Maybe customers here in the states should file suit also. €561 million didn't seem to get their attention. Maybe €1 billion, and $1.5 billion, with a freeze on any price increase of their products/services for the next three years, except for adjustments due to inflation (in other words, the company; hopefully executives; gets to carry the load instead of immediately passing it on to customers), with the option of instead making things right, and actually satisfying customers, would raise some eyebrows.

I somehow just don't see the latter happening. At least not until enough companies make their software available to be compatible with Linux OS, and Linux becomes just a bit more user friendly. They're getting there, but still lack some for most people. I do hope it's soon.

My wife and I are retired and live as an empty-nesting couple, have 4 windows PCs (3 #10 & 1#7) plus two IPads.

For whatever reason I'm committed to the big ugly beast, Microsoft, but will not use Bing or IE (any number) or Compass as my choice for browser.  Using them is like 'I speak English and I'm talking to someone who has learned English as a 2nd language.'  Just not there.

It's March 2nd, 2016. Microsoft, realize you have an inferior search engine which is nowhere near as intuitive as for example Google.  Putting your head in the sand and trying to force your customers into your 'jail' just builds resentment.

You're wasting everybody's time.  If you were one of my employees always arguing against the obvious so vehemently, I would have used the old saw . . . "You're obviously not happy working here and not doing what needs to be done.  As your boss, I'm not happy dealing with this ongoing attitude.  I'm going to make us both happy.  You don't need to come here anymore.
