how can i fix error code 2147500037

Thank you so much for your really rapid reply. Actually I didn't come to this conclusion myself - it is active on another forum / community that I saw but try as I might I can't find it again. Look - I am not out to denigrate MS because they have givren me some fabulous products over the years and I started with MS-DOS! My immediate problem is whether or not to upgrade to W10 on both my computers because although MS tell us that 110 million people have upgraded I'll bet another 100 million are waiting to see what happens. MS have already put an icon in my task bar without my permission that occasionalyl pops up at me to encourage me to get a move on and upgrade.

But how can I just open either of my computers (in different rooms because that's the way I work) and not put a password in? I don't have to now in W7 but I do in W8.1

I am following the general threads here and thought I would add my experiences. I have a W7 Home Premium desktop and a W8.1 that I bought in Australia. (US keyboard but that's OK) I am trying to set up a home network and have come into exactly the same problem with the error code 2147500037. I also hate IE and have used Firefox on everything for years. Still haven't worked out how to print to my HP printer though.

I also want to alert others to another cheeky MS download. I don't want to use a password of any kind to sign on to my computers that are used on a home network at HOME! A couple of months ago I found I was unable to enter my laptop because MS had downloaded a directive in one of their Optional Updates that now means I have to enter a password. Again - I know there is a work around by opening another account but it shouldn't be up to me to do a workaround. Who are you MS to direct me to use my computer as you think I should? You have given me software for me to download and that I trusted (secretly) that could be described as malicious. We abhor all malicious software so why did you MS do this? Your answer will be interesting.

Here's an intriguing answer: I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that they didn't do that. Your blame is misplaced. Networking without a password? More like a cached password you saved last year expired or was deleted. They won't ever dignify you with a response to these accusations by the way. This is a mostly user-to-user forum.

I thought they'd done away with explorer in windows 10?

You can still use Internet Explorer. I currently prefer using Internet Explorer 11 on my Windows 10 box as there are still some bugs with Microsoft Edge.

I did a screen print, and copied it to a text document, and printed it that way.  I agree with Bigpapa, MS is still trying to shove IE down people's throats.  Shivam is just toeing the company line.

This is really the easiest solution folks.  IE sucks, and no one wants to use it, especially just to print out one frickin' page.  Just do a print screen, put the file in a photo viewer/editor, crop it if it needs to be (mine did), and then print it out.   Problem solved.  Microsoft support is a joke! Grrrrrr....
