Lately, the messaging app in Windows 8 has been malfunctioning. When I send an outgoing message, the original message pops up at the bottom like normal, but it is quickly followed by a duplicate of the same message directly underneath it. What's going on?

2013-08-19T20:45:31+00:00 The double message only appears in the Messaging app itself. Microsoft should take the time to address the bug - whether chat is open in the browser or not.
It's just a goofy little glitch, but there is no reason we should need to address it on the user end. This is something Microsoft should fix, because it is stupid to leave such a minor problem hanging for months and months.

2013-08-19T21:58:19+00:00 This is not just an issue of the Win 8 Messaging app, but also an issue of Outlook.com.
Further if you have not connected Skype with Facebook you can't Chat with People on Facebook using Skype....
There is some gap to be closed or some issue to be fixed :-)
PS: Yes, you can link the Skype account to Facebook too, but does this make sense if the Skype account will be replaced by the Microsoft account on a Long run?

2013-08-19T22:26:23+00:00 It is not a question of "if" Skype has replaced messenger App in 8.1. Microsoft has already discontinued Windows Live Messenger, you don't really think Messenger App will be around much Longer.
