Messaging App in Windows 8 showing duplicate outgoing messages

Lately, the messaging app in Windows 8 has been malfunctioning.  When I send an outgoing message, the original message pops up at the bottom like normal, but it is quickly followed by a duplicate of the same message directly underneath it.  What's going on?

Yeah, same happening here. First, I was using IM+ for Windows 8 messenger, but the issue seems only related to Facebook contacts. I'm not sure, but I was receiving duplicate outgoing messages on both apps just on Facebook account. Hope it's a temporary fail.

Good observation. It's only my Facebook contacts, as well. Not life or death annoying, but it needs to be fixed.

Haha' Yes, not life or death annoying, but it really needs  a fix. Actually, I think the app with more fails, lately, is Messaging. Don't know why. Micrsoft still treats Messaging app just as a hub, but I guess if the feedback of the users were read, some things would get better - or, at least, get less worse.

Yes my messaging app in both Win8 Pro and my surface are duplicating my sends in the app although it is only being received once by the Facebook recipient so it's not sending twice it's just duplicating it in the chat window on Win8 - VERY annoying!

Same problem here... for about the past 4 days
