Messaging App in Windows 8 showing duplicate outgoing messages

This messaging app is a perfect example of a Facebook messenger app which makes you stop and think: "Hang on, i'm doing Facebook messages- Why don't I just use Facebook?!" Yeah....

Tried that several times, doesn't work or works for like 2 minutes then goes back to duplicating stuff. It's been 6 months, I've given up

Lately, the messaging app in Windows 8 has been malfunctioning.  When I send an outgoing message, the original message pops up at the bottom like normal, but it is quickly followed by a duplicate of the same message directly underneath it.  What's going on?

Yeah, literally all you have to do to fix this is disconnect your Facebook profile, then reconnect it again. That fixes the duplicate messaging issue.

This was bothering me too when I message my Facebook friends but I found a solution! Also worked for a few of my other friends, too.

1. While in the messaging app open the charms bar by using "Windows"+"C" or swiping the right side of the screen
2. click or tap on "settings" and go to “accounts”
3. click or tap your Facebook account
4. click or tap on “Manage this account online” and you should be redirected to your browser
5. Log into your Microsoft account
6. Un-check everything except “Chat with facebook friends” and “view your facebook photos and videos”

7)click “save”/”reconnect”

8. Problem solved!

I have also Noticed that Messenger appears to have a habit of breaking up Facebook messages and sending it in two or three pieces (sometimes more) ?
