The title pretty much sums up my issue. I have never been able to access it since I upgraded, so I'm not sure where something went wrong. I don't really know how to go about fixing this issue, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi Ben,

I will certainly help you with this issue.

1.      What happens while you try to access windows store?

2.      Are you getting any error code or error message? If yes, what is the complete error message?

3.      Are you using a Microsoft account or local account?

Let’s follow these methods and check if it helps.

**Method 1:**Check if the date, time and time zone are set according to your time and time zone.

Follow these steps to set the date and time:

a. Press Windows key + C on your keyboard to show the Charms bar.

b. Type “Date and Time” in the charms bar search.

c. Click Change date and time button (To change the time zone click on time zone tab).

d. Click Apply and Ok to save the date and time.

Method 2: Clear the store cache and check.

a. Press "Windows key + R".

b. Type wsreset.exe and click OK.

Method 3: Disable the proxy server and check.

a. Open Internet Explorer ****b. Click Tools and then click Internet Options. ****c. Then click the Connections tab.

d. Then click the LAN Settings button.

e. Then Uncheck the option which reads” Use a proxy server for your LAN” ****f. Click apply and then ok.

Method 4: Perform clean boot and check.

a) Press the ‘Windows + R’ key on the keyboard.

b) In the ‘Run’ windows type ’MSCONFIG’ and click ‘Ok’.

c) On the ‘General’ tab, click to select the option ‘Selective startup’, and then click to clear the option Load startup items check box.

d) On the ‘Services’ tab, click to select the ‘Hide all Microsoft services’ check box, and then click ‘Disable all’.

e) On the ‘Startup’ tab, click ‘**Open Task Manager’.**In the Task Manager window under startup tab, right click on each startup item which are enabled and select ‘**Disable’.**f) Click ‘OK’, and then click Restart.

I would suggest you to follow the step 2 from the following article to determine what is causing the problem.

How to perform a clean boot to troubleshoot a problem in Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

Note: After you have finished troubleshooting, follow the step 3 to reset the computer to start as usual.

Method 5: Download and run the app troubleshooter and check.

I have also had this problem for a few weeks and tried all the suggestions in the forums.  I then noticed that store broker was using a lot of cpu and found this solution

STORE BROKER (WSHOST.EXE) CONSUME A LARGE AMOUNT OF CPU

by ADMIN on MARCH 30, 2014 in OSUNCATEGORIZEDWINDOWS with 9 COMMENTS

Store Broker (wshost.exe)  is a Microsoft process and should not consume more than 1% of CPU. After installing Windows it consume a low ammount of CPU but after that you install application Store Broker (wshost.exe process) may take a large ammount of CPU, so I will try to give you a trick to solve this problem.

WHY CAUSE STORE BROKER HIGHT CPU USSAGE?

The process look like:

![](http://howtofix.pro/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/store-broker-high-cpu-usage.jpg)

Usually problem is caused by:

  • after installing some applications;
  • maybe Kaspersky Antivirus???

HOW TO FIX HIGH CPU USAGE BY STORE BROKER:

Open Task Manager (CTRL + Shift + ESC) >> Go to Processes tab and then kill StoreandStore Brokersprocesses:

  1. Right-Click on Store process >> End Task;
  2. Right-Click on Store Brokers >> End Task;

Then you have to go to:

C:\Users\(Your User Account)\AppData\Local\Packages\WinStore_xxxxxxxxxxxxx\LocalState

xxxxxxxxxxxxx = a random string – it is different to another pc;

  1. Rename folder called Cache into CacheOld.
  2. Create an empty folder with name Cache

That’s all. If you want to revert changes just delete Cache and Rename CacheOld into Cache.

CONCLUSIONS:

This method to resolve Store Broker (wshost.exe) high CPU usage will not affect in any way Store or installing and using application from Windows 8 Store.

PS: Tested on windows 8.1 but should work on any other version like Windows 8.

PS2: Credits to google, microsoft forums;

Now my store works fine.

It's something fonts related.

Coincidentally someone else has just claimed that registering actxprxy.dll  is a fix...

Also claimed that there was a duplicate post here but I couldn't find it (not that that would be conclusive proof that it doesn't exist).

    Hi

    I was following another thread with the same question, another 22 pages of people with no windows store opening. There was an answer that worked for a lot of people; it's a bit of a pain but at least it works. The microsoft people haven't got a clue and don't care.

    Try this:

    Set up a guest login, turn it on. Log out and go to the guest login. See if the apps work. If store works there, log out make a new user with admin permissions. See if the apps work. They did for me. Go to store and download 8.1. This will take forever. You might have to make yourself a new Microsoft account. I couldn't use my original. Hopefully you have more than one email account. You might have a spare gmail one that you only use for android. Everything will set up nicely. In theory your computer should then have everything working for all users, including the first you, but mine didn't. I just have to use the new me. Annoying but at least all the apps work, and another plus is that now my Office 365 works. It wouldn't activate before on my computer though my account said it was activated. (Of course Microsoft had no answer for this either.)
