    I have followed your instructions but only a couple of my items come through and the rest are blank...  any suggestions...

    It takes time to come through. The feed is only updated every few days. It's a dreadful workaround.

    Horrible workaround!  The convoluted instructions are hard enough to follow, but once you do, the existing events in the Google Calendar synced up within minutes to the Outlook Calendar, which then synced up with the Win8 Apps calendar.  Unfortunately, events you add to the Google Calendar after that do NOT show up in either the Outlook or Win8 App Calendars.  At least not for a few days.

    Best bet is to abandon the idiotic Win8 apps altogether, and just use your browser to go directly to your Google Calendar.  Yikes, it's enough to make me go buy a little paper calendar book, just like we used to use 30 years ago...

    I hope I can save a few people some time (I have wasted half a day or so). The Subscribe button on Outlook.com does not update the ics feed and show changes to the Calendar you have 'subscribed' to, or, at best, is so slow to update that you might think it is not working at all.

    If I update a Google Calendar, my iPhone will update almost immediately. Outlook.com does not update, seemingly, at all - and nothing I can find will persuade it to. There is a complex solution available involving switching your web browsers user agant, disabling javascript and re-subscribing to all your calendars, but I'm not sure that is a permanent and genuine subscription enabler or just a one-off refresh.

    Effectively, Subscribe on Outlook.com seems to mean 'Import a snapshot of the current events, and then maybe update it at unusably infrequent intervals, sometimes'. A shame, because the Outlook.com Calendar looks good otherwise and I'd like to use Windows Live Mail 2012 as my everyday organiser and email system.

    I gave up on the Win8 Calendar app AND the Outlook calendar altogether.  Created a "Metro" tile that opens Google Calendar directly (via Firefox), which works perfectly and does not require massive fiddling with signing up for Calendar O so that it can receive data from Calendar G so that it might update Calendar 8.  Idiotic! (And the data updates really are approximately every FOUR DAYS, and the data is often incorrect.)

    Create a shortcut to your Google Calendar on your desktop, then drop it in the appropriate folder and voilá, you have a Metro tile.  Here are the instructions to create a tile for computer shutdown, but it works for creating web shortcuts as well:
