    How have you done this? Is it just a link to the login page so each time you select it you have to enter your username and password which would still be clunky, or is there a way to make it more seamless?

    @IOG-IRL  I was also very irritated by this when I got my Win8 machine several months ago. My "solution" was to create a new tile on the Metro screen, linking directly to my Google Calendar via web browser. Easy to do, and you can find/use a nice calendar icon on the tile.  New Google calendar events sync instantly with my Android tablet app.

    The calendar feed issues will probably be all sorted out within a few years, LOL...

    This is crazy... no ability to import a simple calendar feed ..... MS has just made the Metro interface on my shiny new laptop obsolete... and I haven't been using it for more than an hour!

    The other issue people are pissed about is you can't get two-way sync with outlook.com calendar using any other app other than Outlook or Windows 8 Calendar (and probably other MS apps).  I'm on Google Calendar and I put my family on Outlook.com (it's just easier for them since they use outlook.com already along with Skydrive and MS Office.)  So I had to create a Webapp Tab in Thunderbird for the Outlook Calendar we share when I want to add/edit events.  I synced my outlook.com to my Google calendar and added the Outlook calendar to Lightning so both ways I see ALL my events in one place. Even though Lightning allows 2-way sync with Google, Outlook.com is too stupid to do it (by design I'm sure.)  So I just have to remember to use the Webapp Tab for managing Outlook.com calendar and Lightning for managing my Google Calendar.  Win8 Cal can be used too but I hat having to switch all the way over when I'm in Thunderbird all day.

    So I thought this solution was a pretty clean workaround, then come to find shortly after, (as many already have) that if I edit my Google Calendar, it takes FOREVER to updated on my Outlook calendar!  Been 3 hours and still waiting.  Are you kidding me?

    So... I'm waiving the white flag and switch to all Outlook.com for my calendaring.  You win MSFT. The only reason I'm doing this is because (a) I don't host my e-mail with either service (I have my own domain and server) and (b) I think the Outlook.com calendar actually edges out Google Calendar (mailing in the social site calendar sync) but it is just a bit nicer interface, etc.

    Now no guarantees though I will find something lacking and have to go back to Google!
