How do I get my Google Calendar events to show in the Calendar app in Windows 8?

	If you’d like to see your Google Calendar events in the Calendar app, you have two options:<br><br><br><br> <br><br><br>· You can permanently move them into Outlook.com. <br>When you’re done, all your events will be available in the Windows Calendar app. From there, you can edit, delete, and update your events. <br><br><br><br> <br><br><br>· You can subscribe to your Google calendar from Outlook.com. Horrible. I was able to get my gmail calendar fine until recently. THIS IS A BIG MISTAKE, Microsoft! Don't make the people that buy your products live with your mistakes.

Yep, totally agree... Love the Win 8 interface but HATE the Calendar app update. Please fix this issue!

Ironically Mac OS X does support CalDAV and even has Google Sync built-in.

The "Option 2: Subscribe to your Google Calendar from Outlook.com" is next to useless. It takes so bloody long to update in my Windows 8 Calendar now the information is always totally out of date.

Making the once very useful lock screen calendar notification now also useless.

Microsoft! Google have publicly available documents on what changes you need to make. Just do it. Google isn't a tiny calendar provider after all.

At the very least add a Manual Refresh button so it doesn't take days to upgrade the subscribed calendars.

It doesn't even update every 24 hours!

This is absolutely unbelievable! After buying a new PC specifically with Windows 8 on, and after many years of using Windows with Outlook linked to my Google calendar and allowing every type of edit on either calendars at or away from my PC, Microsoft have made changes that seriously affect my use of the PC. It is unforgiveable. I don't care whether Microsoft or Google are to blame. Something that worked now doesn't.

Microsoft invite suggestions about changes and improvements. How about correcting mistakes they've made and creating a method that once again allows the MS calendar (whether in Outlook or the new app in W8) and Google's calendar to work seamlessly. Not work-arounds either - solutions!

You are making me think that I made the wrong decision after much deliberation about whether I should have gone to Apple instead of buying this new PC - you can't arbitrarily do something that affects the way people work without getting major negative publicity and annoying long-term Windows user.

I hope you get the right impression from this - I am furious.
