how do you make the clock and date always visible in windows 8?

Hello,

On the earlier operating systems the date and clock would be in the lower right hand side.  The new windows 8 doesn't have that,  the date and clock appear for a little bit.  I must have the date and clock show at all times when I am on the computer.  Weather in websites or otherwise.  I searched topics and didn't appear to be a solution.

I must have it, if it is not an option, then someone at Microsoft windows needs to figure this out.

Unfortunately, that option is not possible as it is designed in that way.

    Agreed totally!  If I do some work at home before leaving for work, I need to monitor my time.  This is an essential.

    I also agree that I haven't seen too many comments from Windows 8 techs on this issue lately.  Is having a Taskbar really that difficult to fix.  Is customer satisfaction of any importance? 

    They fixed the main gripe with Win 8 with 8.1

    The ability to boot into desktop and never see the tiles.  Taskbar and clock always available and no useless non-multitasking 'apps' to bother about.

    I dislike this omission too. there should be a way to create a "always on top" window across the metro ui, but I think it was intentionally left out to prevent programmers from"corrupting" the main UI.

    It would take a hack that overrides this part of the API or a direct change from m$ themselves.

    For me I try to force myself to use the metro interface because of th simplicity, but I still end up in the desktop view 50% of the time so the time is usually visible.

    For now, when I am in metro though, I find it easy enough to hit "Windows+C" or sometimes "Windows+D" which instantly shows the date, day, time, battery level, and wifi strength.

    There are a tone of tiles that even update in real time (run in the background), but I found having yet a 3rd place to look for the time.

    why have developed Windows 8?

    we want to put content before chrome, not clock before content.

    it is by design that there should not be any irrelevant persistent bar in the modern layout.

    when I want to know the time, just swipe in from the right. if I have something scheduled, Calendar will notify me with a toast. now Windows 8.1 even comes with Alarms built-in.

    what I want however is a big analog clock in Desktop on my external display.
