how do you make the clock and date always visible in windows 8?

Hello,

On the earlier operating systems the date and clock would be in the lower right hand side.  The new windows 8 doesn't have that,  the date and clock appear for a little bit.  I must have the date and clock show at all times when I am on the computer.  Weather in websites or otherwise.  I searched topics and didn't appear to be a solution.

I must have it, if it is not an option, then someone at Microsoft windows needs to figure this out.

Unfortunately, that option is not possible as it is designed in that way.

    Really Hamilton?   It's called glanceability-  Is that a mantra of the new live tiled UI?   When I am working in an App, I don't want to stop everything and touch/mouse-over somewhere else to see the time.  I just want to look at the bottom right corner.  Simple.

    Well I think that begs the question, why do you need a clock always visible if it takes a few seconds to bring it up when you need it?

    I don't think anyone's asking how to find out what time it is. We're interested in having the clock always visible. While it only takes a few seconds to hover over Settings in Charms or switch to Desktop mode, that's still very different from just glancing down to see it- almost as a reflex. Sure- we can work in Desktop mode all the time, but then why have developed Windows 8?

    It looks like you already received your answer.

    My suggestion is to do one of two things when you need to know what the date/time is:

    1. Just go to the Charms menu and hover over Settings to see the time pop-up.
    2. Keep the desktop mode open in the background and switch to it when needed. Desktop mode always has the time and date visible in the bottom right corner.

    Both options only take a few seconds to accomplish.
