Copy and Paste Feature Not Working in Windows 8

Hi,

This is probably the wrong forum to post this question in. But I am running a Windows 8 Pro 64bit machine, and I am experiencing problems with the Copy, Cut and Paste feature in windows explorer, where I try to copy a directory or file from one location to another but it does not work. I do have permission rights. Is this a bug in the operating system?

    I am using Windows 8 on my new laptop. Copy and Paste stopped working for me, as well.  If I try to C&P parts of an instant message (AIM), only a small portion of what I want to copy is actually copied. Sometimes, nothing at all is copied.  This issue occurs both when I use right-click "Select all/copy" and right-click "Paste", or whether I highlight and then do control-C, control-V.  Same thing happens via both methods when I try to copy from a Word document, to Paste into an email.

    Today, I tried to C&P several lines into an email and what was actually pasted into my email was a smiley face-- which was NOT anything that I had copied! wtf??

    after about 3 or 4 times (over several days) .. this finally worked for me .. fingers crossed copy/paste still works

    >>> type**"sfc /scannow"  (see post #1)**

    If you are looking for help I suggest you open your own thread with your own details.  Posting a specific example would be useful to aid discussion too.

    I found this thread via google search. Running Win8 32 Pro.

    Cannot effectively cut and paste via highlight rclick or Ctrl C Ctrl V.

    Weblinks are the worst. Trying to take a web address from ie bar into Outlook email for example.

    Very frustrating!!

    Seems to me like this "design feature" worked wrong from the day I got my Windows 8 computer. It is a bug, not a virus.

    I tried Method 1 and it did not work. Now I am facing removing all of my apps to see it that might fix it. I had this issue since day one. Is there a plan in place fix this problem? When I was a software engineer for Boeing (working in testing) I would have opened a ticket and this and fixed it. Come on folks we all know someone dropped the ball. Your losing customers every day over this issue. I hate that copy and paste do not work in Windows 8. Let's get your head out of the sand over there at Microsoft before people start switching to Ubuntu.

    Windows 8

    Asus 64 bit

    4 GB ram

    Problem happens in every program I own, it is across the board, and on websites, using Ctr-c, Ctr-x, Ctr-v, right click copy, right click paste, right click cut, file cut, file copy, file paste. I just don't think this is a me issue.
