Copy and Paste Feature Not Working in Windows 8

Hi,

This is probably the wrong forum to post this question in. But I am running a Windows 8 Pro 64bit machine, and I am experiencing problems with the Copy, Cut and Paste feature in windows explorer, where I try to copy a directory or file from one location to another but it does not work. I do have permission rights. Is this a bug in the operating system?

I also am unable to copy or cut & paste from emails or websites.  The only time it works is went I created a Word doc and using copy/cut & paste within the document.  How could MS not have such a simple every day feature work in Windows 8?  Help?  Suggestions please.

I am having the same problem! It is getting quite frustrating not being able to copy and paste anything. Windows 8 has been horrible and on top of everything it is extremely hard to navigate and use. The older versions were MUCH better! Please help with the copy and paste issue. I already scanned the computer with the Windows+X feature and it said nothing was wrong.

Me Too, my wife just bought an ultrabook with Winows 8 - Terrible OS!

Simple copy and paste from web pages doesn't work, to get a start menu you have download a third party app and the UI is almost unusable.

I think Microsoft was in such a rush to cash in on touch screen that they did not care if it works or not and where is the support here they've instructed to "refresh windows" why? its brand new with all current updates now what  just except that its not going to work?

All users know how to use WINDOWS and simple functions like copy & paste are the bread and butter of computing and now most if these functions don't work or are hidden in a way so you cannot find them.

And with all these changes where is the tutorial so we can find the functions we are familiar with?

Thanks Microsoft I'll be sticking with Win 7 on my own computer until google brings out an OS and finishes you guys off for good!

I have Windows 8 and also had a problem where CONTROL C and CONTROL V did not always work.

In Outlook 2007 and 2010 it never worked correctly. If I CONTROL C .. then went and created a new email .. and tried to CONTROL V .. it never worked.  I always had to create the new email FIRST, then go back and CONTROL C the text.. then I could CONTROL V into the email (not the most logical order !)

    sfc /scannow

    >> Seems to have resolved the problem.   If not, I will post back here again.

It stopped working again .. Windows 8 is a piece of junk !!!   I wish I could go back to Windows 7

What are the steps to take after your method 1 is implemented?
